Features :

Texturisng dog grooming scissors, sometimes referred to as Chunkers, look similar to blending scissors but, have fewer and wider teeth.  This enables them to be used like straight scissors, to remove bulk and create shape, whilst leaving natural texture.  This scissor is ideal for breeds with thick, wavy or curly hair – most commonly crossbreeds bred from Poodles or Bichon’s.  Almost every salon encounters these breeds on a regular daily basis and, as such, texturising scissors are a great tool to help speed up the styling process and reduce scissoring time.

This texturising scissor measures 7″ (18cm) in length with 20 individual teeth.  Each tooth has a flat convex edge with rigid spacing, allowing hair to pass between the blades without being cut.  This creates a natural, soft finish rather than a blunt or sharp line.  This scissor has fully convex hollow-ground blades for precision cutting and a ‘ball-bearing’ tension system for super smooth operation.  The handle style is ergonomic by design, made to enhance comfort, handling and control.  Finally, it has a titanium veneer for maximum durability and a more attractive appearance.

Advice :

To help prevent hand fatigue and the risk of injury, operate the scissor by placing your thumb and third (ring) finger through the holes provided.  If you have smaller hands, you may wish to consider fitting ‘inserts’ to accommodate slender fingers and thumbs.  To achieve the best finish, always remove hair in small amounts.  This will help you avoid mistakes and any stepped changes in hair length and texture.

Convex cutting blades are razor sharp but, also extremely delicate.  To avoid damaging them, regularly monitor blade tension and, adjust accordingly to avoid grinding the blades or catching teeth.  The pivot screw enables you to do this without tools, applying incremental pressure until moving parts are firm but not tight.  A few drops of oil near the pivot point will also help keep the blades running smooth.

Finally, never use convex scissors to cut dirty or greasy coats.  These can harbour fine grit particles and contaminates, which will damage and quickly dull the cutting blades.

Useful Tips :
